One of my colleagues just bought a 991 C4S! Our parking lot is a sea of S classes and Merc/BMW SUV’s. It’s just myself, and one other guy (2016 S4 behind the Maxima) that are into cars. So it’s nice to have a 3rd climb out of the woodwork. It’s the opposite of how I would option my 911, cept for the “S” badge, but then again I don’t have a 911 and it is freakin’ sweet! Going to see if I can scam a drive before happy hour.

A Maxima? Come on dude, it’s an Altima :p

I guess that’s better than the opposite. When I owned my Maxima’s people always called them Altima’s, sooo...

Hahaha you got it! None are leases, but they’re all S550s haha they flip em like they’re leased though. The guy who bought the Porsche DD’s one of those as well. Obviously S classes can be enthusiast cars, but 6 blue/black S550 4 matics don’t scream enthusiast to me.

No lol definitely not, though I did meet a very passionate s550 owner once. He said the only reason he didn't have a S600 was because of the ridiculous upkeep. But I know what you mean.

Yea I think there is a lot of weight on the driver when it comes to enthusiasm. If you or I owned one of their S550's it sure as shit would be an enthusiast car. Most of these guys don’t care at all about the car, they just want:

1 - A Merc

2 - A Big one

3 - One that has all of the bells and whistles, while staying out of AMG territory because they don’t understand/don’t want to follow the maintenance schedule.

A couple of them have ML550's too, I don’t get it. Just like they don’t get why I’ve got a 14 year baby poop colored M3.

Thanks! I’m glad it’s not my DD anymore for maintenance reasons (which I’m sure you feel from time to time with a V12 merc lol) but I just can’t quit it.

I don’t really know yet, I’m at 7400 miles and I have Audi care (brakes and all) so I won’t have to take any money out of my pocket until 36k. It’s basically a Golf R so I’m kind of hoping that I will be closer to VW $$$ than Audi $$$. Also, this is my first VAG “performance product” so I don’t have deep knowledge on the brand/car.

I traded an E90 M3 for the S3 and everything on it was crazy expensive. I had 2 months to go on the extended warranty and I was about to need brakes all the way around. Also rear tires for the second time in 16k miles lol. So the Audi is going to be a treat compared to it.
